Kings Landscapes are committed to ensuring that every employee has the skills and knowledge required to ensure that they operate safely, efficiently and to a very high standard. Through continual training and good communication we focus on providing our team with the ability to execute their individual responsibilities to a level necessary to ensure the effective operation of the management system.
All employees hold current CSCS industry accredited cards, proving that they have passed the standards required for basic health and safety awareness at both commercial and domestic levels.
David Houghton – Managing Director
David has worked in horticulture throughout his career, with over 20 years experience. David started with a Royal Parks Apprenticeship at Regents Park and Eltham Palace. After completing his apprenticeship with two Chelsea gold medals and a gold medal at the Gateshead Garden Festival he became a Maintenance Foreman at Regents Park. Writtle Agricultural College was David’s next step for seven years, achieving a HND in Landscape Construction. During David’s studies he worked around the world, gaining experience and knowledge of plants and the methodology of landscaping. David also worked in America constructing and maintaining a PGA Golf Course. David has six years experience at one of the top commercial landscaping companies in the U.K. working on some of the most prestigious, BALI award winning projects ever constructed. David’s work has taken him to Cardiff, Reading, Kent, London and the Home Counties. Some of his most challenging projects have included HM Treasury, Broadgate and the prestigious Savill Rose Garden.
Ruth Houghton – Accounts Manager
Ruth has spent 20 years in commercial landscaping, gaining knowledge and experience in administration, nursery visits, estimating, compiling plant schedules, quantity surveying, and co-ordination of site visits.
Ruth oversees the management of the office and with her extensive knowledge provides support where required. Ruth also manages King’s accounts.
Debra Chamberlain – Director
From a horticultural background, Debra joined Kings in 2009. Prior to this, she gained contract administration experience with an international company. Having worked within the construction department of Kings in the role of QS and Contract Administrator, Debra gained considerable skills in contracts management, administration, procurement and quantity surveying. Debra is now involved in business development of Kings with new and existing clients, she also over sees the estimating department.
Daniel Pinna – Construction Operations Manager
With over 13 years experience in hard and soft landscaping, Dan has gained considerable experience in a wide range of challenging projects. Having been self-employed for four years, Dan joined Kings in 2009 as Construction Foreman and was quickly promoted due to his considerable skills in constructing projects on time and to a high standard of excellence. Dan has two years experience studying of Landscape Architecture and currently oversees all Kings Landscapes live construction projects.
Scott Brown – Hard Landscaping Contract Coordinator/ QS
Scott is coming to the end of completing two projects at a High Profile Development in Stratford, London. These highly demanding projects required an eye for detail, excellent administration and problem solving skills. He has currently also involved in several soft landscaping projects. Scott has an HNC in Quantity Surveying and prior to joining Kings, he worked at a landscaping company based in Glasgow.
Donato Friguglietti – Quantity Surveyor
Don has a FdSc in Bulding Technology and started with Kings Landscapes as an Estimator for several years. Don has now progressed in to the role of QS. He is currently involved in a high end residential development in Central London which involves hard and soft landscaping, irrigation package and a water feature package. The project requires high attention to detail and excellent communication with our clients and landscape architect. Don is also involved in the ISO9001 & 14001 Audits.
Ashleigh Miles – Residential Operations Manager
Ashleigh started with Kings Landscapes at the beginning of the year as a site manager for our largest private landscaping project to date. He has progressed in his role to recently becoming Kings Landscapes Residential Operations Manager. He oversees all live Residential projects and ensures all the sites run smoothly.
Ian Buck – Head of Maintenance Department
With a HND in Horticulture – Landscape and Amenity Management he has over 10 years of experience. Ian has gained extensive knowledge from hands on experience through to the sole management of landscaping and grounds maintenance contracts to the value of over 1 million pounds. Ian has managed a wide range of works from the management of grounds maintenance services to pure soft landscaping planting schemes that involve semi-mature tree planting and specimen planting to the installation of ponds and sports facilities such as tennis courts and MUGA’s. Fully approachable, Ian provides sensible advice and solutions for our clients.
Kathryn Chellenbron – Estimator
Kathryn has a long history in commercial landscaping having worked previously for several large commercial companies. She has excellent knowledge in soft landscaping estimating, the construction industry and extensive experience in internal landscaping and maintenance schemes.
Maria Stone – Accounts Administrator
Maria started of at Kings Landscapes as the office administrator, she quickly progressed on to become the accounts administrator. Maria deals with all the accounts and HR. Maria is the backbone to Kings and a highly valued member of staff.
Amy Brown – Office Administrator
Amy is the first point of call at Kings Landscapes and helps ensure the smooth running of the office at Kings. Amy ensures that all general administration, queries from clients, new customers and suppliers and PQQ’s are all carried out promptly and professionally.
